We design wellness programs meant to afford your pet every opportunity to live a long and healthy life.  The importance of regular physical examinations, preventative care, and lab screening cannot be overemphasized!  Our vaccination protocols are based on your pet's individual risk assessment, not a "cookbook" approach. 

NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet.  The quality and composition of your pet's diet affect his/her longevity and health!  Proper nutrition is an integral part of wellness care.

DERMATOLOGY

Skin and ear problems are among the most common ailments presented to veterinarians.  They can be indicative of allergies, endocrine disorders, cancers, or metabolic disorders.  Proper diagnosis and management of underlying conditions are key to successful treatment.

LABORATORY TESTING

Extensive testing is available through commercial laboratories.   Blood and urine tests are an integral part of diagnosing illness and regular laboratory screens are vital to early diseae detection.  They also help monitor and regulate chronic medication dosages.

INTERNAL MEDICINE & ENDOCRINOLOGY ASSESSMENTS

Many medical conditions can be diagnosed and managed in the home enviornment.  Referral for additional diagnostic procedures or hospitalization may be recommended, depending on findings on physical examination and laboratory testing.

PAIN MANAGEMENT

Recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.  There is an ever expanding wealth of knowledge available about the management of acute and chronic pain, and Wags and Whiskers is committed to providing progressive protocols for all our patients. 

BEHAVIORAL COUNSELING

Behavioral problems are the most common reason cited by pet owners surrendering animals to shelters every day.  Many of these problems could have been prevented by proper socialization and training!  Unfortunately, many people don't get the help they need when they are faced with unwanted behaviors in their pets.

We strive to provide the background knowledge our clients need in order to raise happy pets who become treasured members of the family.  When problems do arise, we offer individualized counseling and consultation with trainers to give people and their pets every opportunity to work toward a resolution.

EUTHANASIA

Once you've made the difficult decision to let a beloved pet go, it's a blessing to be able to spend the last precious moments with your friend in the familiarity and comfort of home.  We can also help with final care arrangements.
